At  Syed Bawkher & Co, we believe that a well-made suit is not just a fashion statement, but rather should be seen as investment pieces.
Our suits are constructed with a layer of horsehair canvas underneath the wool fabric shell. First off, what does it mean for a suit to be “Hand-made”? A Hand-made jacket has layers of canvassing material, generally comprised of wool and horsehair, that sit between the outer suit fabric and the inner lining of a suit jacket. While these interlinings are hidden from view on the exterior, they play an incredibly important role in keeping the proper balance, structure and shape of the suit. It’s all about form – the form of the suit to your body. And as you wear a hand-made suit over time, it begins to conform to your body’s shape, thereby becoming a better fit the more you wear it.

The interlining holds the shape of the suit and keeps it from sagging or deforming, much like the foundation of a house keeps it upright. They are cut to the jacket’s shape, then the wool is coupled. These interlinings allow the suit fabric to drape naturally, allowing a clean, well put-together look. It takes years of training and additional hours of handwork for a tailor to be able to craft this the correct way.
Using a combination of discreet hand and machine work, we create suits that are a piece of art more than just a garment, with characteristics including blunt edges, silk-threaded buttonholes, Carozo Nut Buttons and Bemberg linings.
